Price Updated 02 Sep 2009

Microsoft Corp´s Hardware Group recently unveiled several mice based on its BlueTrack Technology -- the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000, Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 as well as the Wireless Desktop 3000.

The BlueTrack Technology works on more surfaces, including smooth and shiny surfaces such as granite and marble and uneven surfaces such as carpet and unfinished wood. It´s also durable and resistant to dust and dirt.

“Between netbooks, notebooks and smartphones, consumers are more mobile than ever with their computing,” said Katherine Teu, Regional Marketing Manager in SEA for Microsoft Hardware. “Our user research team extensively monitored the different locations and surfaces where people are using their computers."

Available in  hues of teal blue, berry pink and lime green as well as graphite and white, the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 connects to the PC via a tiny nano transceiver that sticks out less than a centimeter from the USB port and can easily remain plugged into the computer when traveling, or be easily stored inside the mouse.

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 also features Microsoft´s first nano transceiver and features an ambidextrous design with chrome accents. The nano receiver sticks out only 0.8 centimeters from the USB port and can easily remain plugged into the computer or be stored conveniently right in the mouse.

On the other hand, the first desktop to feature BlueTrack Technology -- the Wireless Desktop 3000 -- comprises of the Wireless Keyboard 3000 paired with the ambidextrous Wireless Mouse 5000. It comes with 2.4 GHz wireless technology and plug-and-play minitransceiver, while the keyboard also features quiet touch keys, a thin-profile design and a soft-touch palm rest.

This keyboard will also be available in a stand-alone version, called the Wireless Keyboard 3000.

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 will be available in end September/October 2009 for an estimated retail price of RM129, while the Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 is priced at RM159 and the the Wireless Mouse 5000 is priced at RM129. The Wireless Desktop 3000 is priced at RM199.

This blue track mouse(model: 3000) performance was far worse than i expected. Bought it in PC Fair after read you review. The battery consumption is bad, NO auto power cut off, therefore the light keep shinning thru out the whole day and night (no wonder is bundle with Duracell battery !!! ). The scroll wheel is so annoying and keep release the noisy sound \"gru gru gru\" when scrolling up and down and the its feel so hard to scroll it. Total dissapointment !!!!! Please do not review such lousy product any more....
