Technology adds a lot of new vocabulary to the dictionary. The term ´phablet´, for example, was coined to describe a device that is a mixture of a phone and tablet. While the convertible laptop-tablet devices have yet to find their own specific term yet (Laplet? Lablet? Tabtop?), there is no denying that these hybrid devices, with detachable and flexible screens, are the future of conventional laptops. At the end of April, Lenovo launched one such convertible laptop-tablet in Malaysia, the ThinkPad Helix. Targeted at business professionals, the 1.7kg Helix has a "rip and flip" design, which allows the device to be aligned in four modes.
